Amsterdam, 9 February 2012

As part of ISIC’s Territory Development Strategy, it is our aim to increase our global reach by growing our issuing partner network worldwide.

Today, we are delighted to inform you that the 2012 PLA tender process has been opened to apply for the status of Provisional Licensed Authority (PLA) in the following territories:

  • Africa: Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Morocco, Nigeria
  • Asia: Bangladesh, Mongolia, Philippines
  • Europe: Albania, Belarus, Kosovo
  • Latin America & Carribbean: Cuba, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico
  • Middle East: Iran, Iraq, Jordan

INTERESTED? THEN LET'S GET STARTED:

Step 1: Make your interest known to us

We would like to take this opportunity to invite all organisations that are interested in developing the ISIC in one of the listed territories to make their interest known to us. Please send us an email to sales@isic-globaloffice.org.

Step 2: What comes next?

We will provide all interested organisations with more information about the tender processes and deadlines and we will ask applicants to prepare a business plan together with a 5-year forecast. The deadline to submit your business plan and 5-year forecast will vary depending on the territory.

Step 3: Present your business plan in Amsterdam

Once the deadline for your territory has passed and the business plans of all applicants have been collected, the ISIC Territory Development Committee will make a selection of all suitable applications and invite them to come to Amsterdam to give a business plan presentation. This process usually takes between 1 and 5 months.

Step 4: Decision and official appointment

Once all selected applications have presented their business plan in Amsterdam, the ISIC Territory Development Committee will decide which of the applicants will be put forward to the ISIC board for ratification. Once the board has ratified the decision, the ISIC Territory Development Committee will sign the PLA agreement and officially announce the new PLA. This process usually takes 1 to 3 months.
