Traffic stops in downtown Seoul as around 30,000 runners pound the streets at the annual Seoul International Marathon. The 42km route incorporates major landmarks, from the General Yi Sun-shin statue in Gwanghwamun to the Cheonggyecheon Stream and the Han River.
Seoul ; Yunjungno Road

Every April the delicate white cherry blossom along Yunjungno Road is the star attraction of the Yeouido Spring Flower Festival. There are also acrobats, inline skaters, traditional Korean percussion music and fireworks along Han River to round off the event.

See the glorious costumes of Emperor Gojong and Empress Myongseong - the last empress of the Joseon Dynasty - at this splendid two-hour re-enactment of the couple's 1866 wedding. A royal procession precedes the ceremony at Unhyungung Palace every April.
