Kumu Art Museum not only houses inspiring contemporary Estonian art, it is also a work of art itself. The striking museum, built into a hillside in Kadriorg, has five floors and an auditorium for regular film, dance and theatre performances.
Jazzkaar in Jazzikuu

Since 2007 Estonia has chimed with the international designation of April as jazz month (jazzikuu). Within the month there is a more focused festival named after organiser Jazzkaar, playing host to many talented musicians and top jazz performers.

Estonia National Opera

Housed in its magnificent, colonnaded two-wing building, which opened in 1913, the Estonia National Opera performs from September to June. Enjoy opera and ballet in the theatre or concerts in two halls in the other wing, through the Winter Garden.

Medieval Market

Craftsmen, traders, musicians and actors make up Tallinn's Medieval Market in the Old Town. People in costume create an authentic atmosphere, and there are concerts, workshops and children's activities to enjoy. The market celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2009.
Dominican Monastery Museum

A gothic stone cloister, founded by monks in 1246, houses the Dominican Monastery Museum in the Old Town. It has a large collection of ancient stone carvings and monks still practise nearby. Book ahead for a guided torchlight tour.
